Abstract:
Introduction: The identification of vulnerabilities and risks makes it possible to understand the needs of a community or group of individuals, whose approach can be observed under different aspects of risk susceptibility. These are social, economic, cultural, structural, environmental and political factors that enhance the vulnerabilities of populations, such as the recyclable materials collectors. Objective: to understand the vulnerabilities of recyclable material collectors, considering the COVID-19 pandemic, in the perspective of perceiving the health conditions and the working environment of this population. Considerations: The work in collecting and sorting with recyclable materials handled by several people, in which the virus can remain for several days, makes the collectors even more susceptible to contamination. Despite the fundamental work carried out, they are highly susceptible to COVID-19 contamination due to the vulnerabilities associated with the work activity of collecting and separating recyclable materials.
