Abstract: The Billings Ovulation method is one of the methods classified as behavioral used to space the pregnancy, through the identification of the woman's fertile period. This study aimed to understand the experiences and perceptions of women regarding the use of the MOB. It is understood that the recognition of the challenges facing the choice of the MOB may support reflections for the adoption of strategies to strengthen women's autonomy regarding the most appropriate contraceptive method. The research subjects were women of reproductive age and users of the Billings Ovulation Method. Data collection took place through individual semi-structured recorded interviews, using the Snowball Sampling Technique. The results allowed us to verify that the religious influence, the fear of God and the co-responsibility of the partner directly influenced the choice of MOB as a method for family planning. It was also found that women did not find support from health professionals when they decided to choose a non-hormonal method. Women's health care services should advocate strategies that can develop women's self-knowledge about their bodies, presenting all available methods, and should always respect the choice of what best fits their body's characteristics, values and beliefs.
