Abstract: Academic monitoring is a valuable teaching support strategy, integrated with research and extension, providing monitors with the development of skills and competencies, initiation into teaching, as well as personal, academic and professional growth. The aim was to report the experience of student monitors during academic monitoring of the Women's Health discipline and their contributions to student education. This is descriptive study, in the form of an experience report, based on the experience of two student monitors who are part of the Women's Health Monitoring Teaching Project of the Nursing course at the Federal University of Maranhão, Pinheiro campus. Guided by the teachers, the monitors carried out various activities that resulted in greater integration and active participation of students, enhancing learning and assimilation of content. The monitors’ work enabled the creation of a dialogic and reflective space, strengthening the bond between teachers and students, providing greater collaboration and quality to the teaching-learning process.
