Abstract: Productive efficiency in swine depends on a series of factors, among which nutrition is one of the most important points, as it interferes with our results. Advances in genetic improvement have influence on improving animal performance, but this has also led to changes in nutritional requirements and changes in metabolism. The use of vitamins for swine is important to reach better results. Vitamin D3 is involved in bone metabolism, intestinal activities and the immune system of animals. This review highlights the effects of vitamin D3 supplementation and its metabolites in swine feed.
