Abstract: Domestic violence represents one of the most serious public health problems in contemporary Brazil, affecting millions of children and adolescents who grow up in family environments marked by physical, psychological, and sexual aggression. This study proposes an innovative analysis of the phenomenon through the metaphor of the "Roly-Poly Toy", a toy that always returns to the vertical position after being knocked down, symbolizing the tendency of violence victims to return to the same destructive relational patterns. The research integrates established psychological theories - including Albert Bandura's Social Learning Theory, John Bowlby's Attachment Theory, and the concept of intergenerational transmission of violence - with empirical evidence on the effectiveness of preventive police programs, especially the Maria da Penha Patrol and community policing strategies. Through documentary analysis and systematic literature review, the study examines updated data from the Brazilian Public Security Forum, demonstrating that different forms of violence against children and adolescents grew significantly between 2021 and 2022, with increases of 16.4% in sexual exploitation, 15.3% in rape, and 14.9% in abandonment of dependents. The research reveals that the Military Police, when acting through preventive and humanized approaches, can play a fundamental role in interrupting the intergenerational cycle of violence, contributing to the reduction of recidivism rates and femicides. Results indicate that programs like the Maria da Penha Patrol, implemented in Espírito Santo, resulted in significant decreases in femicide rates, while personalized care and reassuring visits directly impact the reduction of recurrences. The study concludes that the integration between psychological knowledge and preventive police practices offers a promising model for addressing domestic violence, proposing specific guidelines for police training, care protocols, and integrated public policies that consider both psychological and operational aspects of intervention in family violence contexts.
