Abstract: The problem of violence against women is not recent, rather it denotes a long history of exclusion and inequality in which the feminine has been undervalued, disadvantaging the comprehensive development of this half of the population. Given the development of Human Rights and the perspective of feminism itself, in today's society, we have studies that conceptualize the problem, and highlight the need for greater protection; Likewise, there are extensive regulations available for the attribution of rights. In this sense, the work proposes an approach to the legal perspective of violence and its evolution in the Ecuadorian sphere, applying conceptual and normative descriptive analysis at the level of legal hermeneutics, by approaching international and national regulations. From this it is concluded that the eradication of this social scourge requires, in addition to normative evolution, knowledge and empowerment not only of women, but of all people.
