Abstract: This text reports ongoing research in the Master's Program in Professional and Technological Education in Brazil.This research explores the use of video games as an innovative strategy to promote awareness and engagement with socio-environmental dilemmas in the Amazon, intensified during Jair Bolsonaro's government. Using Bardin's (2016) content analysis, a study of online news about the Amazon between 2019 and 2022 was conducted, identifying themes such as deforestation, illegal mining, and violence against indigenous populations. The insights derived from this analysis informed the development of an educational video game, created with the Unity engine and LowPoly graphics, to immerse players in the region's real socio-environmental challenges. Preliminary results indicate that the game can spark interest and promote critical reflection on these issues. Although more research is needed to assess its effectiveness as an educational tool, this study lays the groundwork for the use of digital technology in teaching and engaging with critical socio-environmental issues.
