Abstract: The news program Televistazo en la Comunidad broadcast by Ecuavisa on open signal in Ecuador and retransmitted on the Ecuavisa.com website was selected as the subject of this study, whose objective was to identify language vices in live television news broadcasts. In the theoretical support, documentary research and transactional research were used to delimit the time to one month; the analytical method was applied in the review of the 20 videos and the statistical method in the presentation of the tabulated data. The result was that 13 types of language vices were identified in live broadcasts and that the reporters who conducted the live coverage committed a high percentage of language vices.
