Abstract: Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is increasingly prevalent. It involves significant health disease and situational transitions for both the patient and the family, which is why nursing intervention in this area is based on the theory of transitions developed by Meleis. In this way, the nurse, with the client and family as the care target, must be a facilitator of this transition process, particularly in health education and adherence to the therapeutic regime, to contribute to reducing readmissions due to a new ischemic cardiac event. The importance of this chapter is underscored by the need to understand the evidence supporting the nurse's intervention in promoting the empowerment of post-AMI patients in managing adherence to their therapeutic regime. This empowerment, directly linked to their knowledge, autonomy in decision-making, and self-management, can profoundly impact their quality of life. Therefore, the structure of this chapter, using an integrative literature review as a methodology, is organized as follows: theoretical framework, methodological path, results and discussion, and conclusion.
