VALORIZAÇÃO DO CAULIM FLINT COMO MATERIAL CIMENTÍCIO SUPLEMENTAR (MCS)
O objetivo deste trabalho é verificar o potencial de utilização do resíduo gerado pela indústria papeleira durante a extração do caulim convencional, caulim flint (CF), como MCS. Para isso, o resíduo foi submetido a moagem e diferentes temperaturas de calcinação a fim de aumentar a sua reatividade. A influência destes tratamentos foi verificada de forma indireta por ensaios de caracterização físicos (Granulometria e área superficial B.E.T) e mineralógicos (DRX). Foram realizados ensaios de calorimetria isotérmica e de resistência à compressão aos 7 e 28 dias. A partir dos resultados obtidos, notou-se que o CF tem potencial de uso como MCS.

Abstract:
The objective of this work is to verify the potential use of the residue generated by the paper industry during the extraction of conventional kaolin, flint kaolin (FC), as SCMs. For this, the residue was submitted to different thermal and physical treatments in order to increase its reactivity. The influence of these treatments was indirectly verified by physical (Granulometry and surface area B.E.T) and mineralogical (XRD) characterization tests. Isothermal calorimetry and compressive strength tests were performed at
7 and 28 days. From the results obtained, it was noted that the CF has potential for use as SCM. -
