VALORANDO O RIO APODI-MOSSORÓ
Devido ao grande número de
poluentes existentes no rio Apodi-Mossoró e
partindo do entendimento que essa situação
ocorre em função do uso direto e indireto do
rio, o artigo objetivou identificar a disposição a
pagar (DAP), da população pela recuperação/
preservação do rio Apodi-Mossoró. Neste
sentido utilizou-se de uma ferramenta
da teoria microeconômica neoclássica: a
valoração contingente. Foram aplicados 300
questionários, 150 com a população ribeirinha
e 150 com a população geral do município
de Mossoró. Como instrumentos de coleta,
teve-se questões objetivas semi-estruturadas,
que abrangiam os dados sócio econômicos,
ambientais entre outros. Os dados coletados
foram compilados e analisados por meio de
software estatístico realizando regressão linear
múltipla e aplicando o modelo logit, tendo como
resultado a função de demanda das populações
da amostra, pela recuperação/preservação do
rio Apodi-Mossoró. O modelo observado foi
compatível com o estimado, validando assim a
pesquisa. A disposição média a pagar estimada
da população geral foi de $20,49. O valor
econômico total mensal foi de R$ 5.323.609,35
gerando um valor anual de R$ 63.888.331,22.

Abstract:
Due to the large number of
pollutants present in the Apodi-Mossoró river
and based on the understanding that this
situation occurs due to the direct and indirect
use of the river, the article aimed to identify
the population’s willingness to pay (DAP) for
recovery / preservation of the Apodi-Mossoró
River. In this sense a neoclassical microeconomic
theory tool was used: contingent valuation;
300 questionnaires were applied, 150 with the
riverine population and 150 with the general
population of Mossoró. As collection instruments,
there were semi-structured objective questions,
which covered socio-economic, environmental
and other data. The collected data were
compiled and analyzed by means of statistical
software performing multiple linear regression
and applying the logit model, having as
result of the demand function of the sample
populations, by the recovery / preservation of
the Apodi-Mossoró River. The observed model was compatible with the estimated,
thus validating the research. The estimated average payable disposition of the general
population was R$ 20.49. The monthly total economic value was R $ 5,323,609.35,
generating an annual value of R$ 63,888,331.22.
