Abstract: Traduzir textos com a câmera Prolonged and inadequate exposure to sunlight is a significant factor in acceleration of the skin aging process, known as "photoaging". Beyond the aesthetic effects, such as the appearance of wrinkles and blemishes, excessive exposure to the sun also increases the risk of developing skin cancer, one of the most common forms of cancer around the world. The research aimed to investigate and compare the habits and practices of sunscreen use among male and female students, aiming to identify possible differences between behavior and awareness regarding protection solar. A cross-sectional study was carried out using a self-administered questionnaire formulated by the researchers. The sample was made up of students from Faculdade Unis São Lourenço, totaling 97 people. This work analyzes the habits of students at Faculdade UNIS São Lourenço-MG in relation to the use of photoprotection. Such an approach is due to the fact based on the understanding of who generally dedicates themselves most efficiently to sun protection, whether male or female students. The objective of this research is to investigate and compare the habits and sunscreen use practices among male and female students, aiming to identify possible differences between behavior and awareness regarding protection solar. The research showed that there is a predominance of women who use of sunscreen in a more constant and attentive manner, considering aspects such as reapplication, preference for quality when choosing the ideal sunscreen when compared to men. Socio-educational measures are essential to encourage this habit in the community.
