Abstract: As a result of the increasing demand for renewable sources in countless areas, research has been exploring the use of materials with high scalability, good local production, and, for sustainability reasons, agricultural inputs, such as natural fibers. Among them, the fibers of pineapple leaves stand out, as they have significant physical-mechanical properties, capable of promoting potential use as reinforcing fillers for polymeric matrices. The state of Paraíba has the second-largest production of pineapple culture, with the cities of Itapororoca in first place and Pedras de Fogo in second. This article is an integrative review with the main focus on the use of fibers from pineapple leaves, which offers a promising scenario for local producers through the utilization of these inputs to create countless products from these fibers, which are often wasted after the pineapple harvest. By uniting all the pertinent research in a table, the relevant aspects of each one of them were highlighted. To this end, bibliographical research was carried out over a period of 12 years, from 2012 to 2024, using the keyword "pineapple fiber" in the electronic databases Web of Science and Scopus, with the data expressed in graphs. Considering the evolution of the theme over the years, records of the theme by country, and in which countries the topic was most researched, this data was also highlighted in the analysis. After this bibliographic survey, it was possible to highlight positive results from the use of pineapple leaf fibers, especially in the built environment and architecture, bringing relevance, innovation, and potential to this type of application.
