USO PEDAGÓGICO DO SOROBAN: DISPOSITIVO MEDIADOR DOS PROCESSOS DE LETRAMENTO MATEMÁTICO DOS SUJEITOS CEGOS E VIDENTES
Este artigo foi construído a partir dos resultados advindos de uma experiência que articulou pesquisa e extensão, desenvolvido com estudantes de graduação e professores da educação básica. Pretendeu-se com esta ação promover discussões sobre inclusão de pessoas cegas e/ou com deficiência visual, bem como promovendo reflexões sobre o processo de formação continuada de professores, visando o aprendizado do soroban, a partir do conhecimento da dificuldade de trabalho pedagógico com este recurso em sala de aula, para auxiliar na aprendizagem de cálculos matemáticos, configurando a primeira etapa do projeto: a pesquisa a qual em sua fase inicial forneceu informações quanto ao conhecimento acerca do uso do instrumento de cálculo; posteriormente, orientou a construção do planejamento para a realização da extensão, ocorrida entre final de 2019 início de 2020. A metodologia da pesquisa ocorreu por meio da “escuta sensível” e diálogos travados com colegas professores e estudantes e, o preenchimento das fichas de inscrição no curso quanto ao uso ou não deste recurso pedagógico na prática docente e o seu conhecimento. A metodologia da pesquisa se deu na perspectiva etnográfica, e da pesquisa colaborativa, utilizando para coleta das informações a ficha de inscrição, com suporte de André (1982), Minayo e outros. A segunda etapa, construída a partir das informações constatadas na fase anterior, foi realizar a formação de professores para a compreensão e uso deste instrumento, onde temos acompanhado que um elevado número de docentes, não somente da área de exatas, mas também de Pedagogos, desconhece o uso e importância para facilitar a compreensão e construção de conceitos matemáticos simples, quer por parte de estudantes cegos ou videntes. Estruturamos a ação em forma de curso de extensão de 80 a 100 horas e, ao final deste, a terceira etapa, os cursistas realizariam oficinas com estudantes, videntes, da educação básica, preferencialmente os que se encontravam do terceiro ao sexto ano, utilizando o ábaco/soroban como dispositivo mediador do aprendizado.. A proposta final do curso seria a execução das oficinas com estudantes da educação básica, inviabilizada, por conta da pandemia, mas ainda aguardando retorno para sua viabilidade de execução ou não. O referencial teórico, consistiu no manual de Soroban (2009) e a construção do conceito de números e pré-soroban (2006), dentre outros. Os resultados parciais, indicaram que uso do instrumento ábaco como calculador matemático é bastante limitado e seu desconhecimento muito forte, principalmente na área de humanas.

Abstract:
This article was built from the results of an experience that articulated research and extension, developed with undergraduate students and teachers of basic education. The aim of this action was to promote discussions about the inclusion of blind and / or visually impaired people, as well as promoting reflections on the process of continuing teacher education, aiming at learning soroban, based on the knowledge of the difficulty of pedagogical work with this teacher. resource in the classroom, to assist in the learning of mathematical calculations, configuring the first stage of the project: the research which in its initial phase provided information regarding the knowledge about the use of the calculation instrument; subsequently, he guided the construction of the planning for the realization of the extension, which took place between the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020. The research methodology occurred through “sensitive listening” and dialogues with fellow professors and students, and filling in the registration forms in the course regarding the use or not of this pedagogical resource in teaching practice and its knowledge. The research methodology took place from an ethnographic perspective, and from collaborative research, using the registration form to collect information, with the support of André (1982), Minayo and others. The second stage, built from the information found in the previous phase, was to carry out the training of teachers for the understanding and use of this instrument, where we have accompanied that a high number of teachers, not only in the area of exact, but also Pedagogues, is unaware of its use and importance to facilitate the understanding and construction of simple mathematical concepts, either by blind students or seers. We structured the action in the form of an extension course of 80 to 100 hours and, at the end of this, the third stage, the course participants would hold workshops with students, visionaries, of basic education, preferably those who were from the third to the sixth year, using the abacus / soroban as a learning mediation device. The final proposal of the course would be the execution of workshops with basic education students, which would be unfeasible, due to the pandemic, but still awaiting a return to its execution viability or not. The theoretical framework consisted of the Soroban manual (2009) and the construction of the concept of numbers and pre-soroban (2006), among others. The partial results indicated that the use of the abacus instrument as a mathematical calculator is quite limited and its lack of knowledge is very strong, especially in the humanities.
