USO DO FITOTERÁPICO PHYLLANTHUS NIRURI L. (QUEBRA-PEDRA) COMO ALTERNATIVA TERAPÊUTICA DA LITÍASE RENAL

A Phyllanthus niruri L., popularmente conhecida
como quebra-pedra, é uma espécie com várias
propriedades medicinais, sendo aplicada
no tratamento de diversas patogenias. Esse
trabalho visa analisar o que consta na literatura
a respeito das propriedades medicinais do
Phyllanthus niruri L. e sua utilização no cuidado
da litíase renal. Trata-se de uma revisão de
literatura do tipo narrativa, onde realizou-se
uma consulta de artigos científicos disponíveis
gratuitamente, selecionados por meio da busca
nas bases de dados Scientific Eletronic Library
Online (Scielo), Literatura Latino- Americana e do
Caribe (Lilacs) e Pub Med. Foram encontrados
12 (doze) artigos e após analisados, resultaram
em 08 (oito) artigos para confecção do presente
trabalho. Mais de 50 (cinquenta) compostos
foram observados no Phyllanthus niruri L,
incluindo flavonóides, triterpenos, lignanas e
alcalóides. Os triterpenos promovem a inibição
da citotoxicidade induzida pelo oxalato de cálcio
(CaOx), reduzindo também a deposição de
cristais renais. Assim, o comumente chamado
Quebra-pedra reduz a agregação dos cristais,
modificando a composição e amorfologia dos
mesmos, atuando nos diversos estágios da
formação do cálculo renal. A escassez de
estudo sobre o Phyllanthus niruri L é notória, o
que evidencia a necessidade de se pesquisar
e buscar mais informações a respeito dessa
temática.

Abstract:
It is defined as a medicinal
plant the plants that have bioactive principles
with prophylactic or therapeutic properties. Phyllanthus niruri L., popularly known as stone-breaker, is a species with several
medicinal properties, being applied in the treatment of several pathogens. This work
aims to analyze what is reported in the literature regarding the medicinal properties of
Phyllanthus niruri L. and its use in the care of renal lithiasis. This is a literature review of
the narrative type, where a consultation of freely available scientific articles was carried
out, selected through the search in the databases Scientific Eletronic Library Online
(Scielo), Latin American and Caribbean Literature (Lilacs ) and Pub Med. Twelve (12)
articles were found and, after being analyzed, resulted in 08 (eight) articles for the
preparation of the present study. More than 50 (fifty) compounds were observed in
Phyllanthus niruri L, including flavonoids, triterpenes, lignans and alkaloids. Triterpenes
promote the inhibition of calcium oxalate (CaOx) -induced cytotoxicity, also reducing
the deposition of renal crystals. Thus, the commonly called Stone Break reduces the
aggregation of crystals, modifying their composition and amorphology, acting in the
various stages of renal calculus formation. The scarcity of study on Phyllanthus niruri
L is notorious, which evidences the need to research and seek more information about
this subject.
