Abstract: In recent years, telemedicine has emerged as an innovative tool in the provision of healthcare services, particularly in primary care. In the context of cardiovascular disease management, which represents one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality globally, telemedicine emerges as a promising approach. This integrative literature review aimed to analyze the use of telemedicine in primary healthcare for the management of cardiovascular diseases, based on 25 selected articles. The results revealed that telemedicine offers significant benefits, such as increased accessibility to healthcare, regular patient monitoring, and improved treatment adherence. However, challenges such as adequate technological infrastructure, healthcare professional training, and patient data security issues need to be addressed. It is considered that the effective integration of telemedicine into primary care can contribute to reducing morbidity and mortality rates associated with cardiovascular diseases. There is a need for further research to assess the long-term impact of telemedicine, as well as its effectiveness in different contexts and populations, aiming to inform evidence-based health policies and practices. In summary, telemedicine presents itself as a promising tool to improve the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular diseases in primary healthcare, providing benefits for both patients and healthcare systems.
