Abstract: Cultivated in more than 102 countries due to its adaptation to adverse climate and soil conditions, cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz), which belongs to the Euphorbiaceae family, is a plant of great socio-economic importance. In Brazil, it is consumed as a tuberous vegetable and has several varieties. Proper management of the crop usually involves phosphate fertilization and weed control, which aim to ensure good productivity. However, the use of microorganisms, such as Bacillus megaterium, has shown promise in promoting cassava growth and improving soil quality, offering sustainable alternatives that can reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers and improve nutritional efficiency in smallholder farming areas. With this in mind, this study aims to carry out a bibliographical review of the main topics on cassava cultivation in association with Bacillus megaterium, in order to highlight the main information and conclusions on the subject.
