Abstract: The present work is a set of information obtained from a bibliographical research involving studies on the importance of the expansion and insertion of tools based on Artificial Intelligence used in Distance Learning courses. Where it can collect data while the student makes use of a Virtual Learning Environment so, from the collected database, Artificial Intelligence can propose several actions to the student that can provide an improvement in their experience in studies, such as suggesting exercises and readings complementary. This study also points out several contributions of Artificial Intelligence with regard to education and distance learning are valuable, and can be applied in several areas, such as, for example, in the performance of the usability of a Virtual Learning Environment, Intelligent Tutoring System, Interface and Modules, in addition to improving its Online Learning, with that its evolution favors in addition to allowing the school to seek more and more satisfaction and improvements according to the student's growth in the teaching and learning process.
