UNSATISFIED BASIC NEEDS OF PRODUCERS IN THE RURAL AREA OF THE URABÁ REGION, COLOMBIA
Las percepciones y dificultades de los pequeños productores en zonas que padecieron históricamente el conflicto armado, son de suma importancia para comprender el escenario actual de construcción de paz. El presente artículo tiene por objetivo aportar a tal análisis la perspectiva de los habitantes de la zona rural de la región de Urabá. Examinando la vulnerabilidad y resiliencia de su población, así como las dificultades que sus habitantes tienen para lograr inclusión económica, política y social, se presenta un estudio de identificación de necesidades básicas insatisfechas de pequeños productores, así como de sus percepciones de su trabajo en zonas rurales como aporte a la construcción de paz. Es solo desde esta mirada de frente a la población, que se puede evidenciar cómo las problemáticas sociales aquí descritas se articulan con los desafíos que tienen para fortalecer el tejido social, así como los nuevos retos que el Urabá antioqueño y chocoano enfrentan en la construcción de paz.

Abstract:
Understanding the difficulties and perceptions of small agricultural producers in zones that historically suffered the hardships of the armed conflict are of great importance for understanding the scenario where peace building is taking place. The objective of the present article is to contribute to such analysis the perspective and social conditions of the people living in rural areas of the Uraba region. Examining the vulnerability and resilience of its population, as well as the difficulties of its inhabitants have to achieve economic, political, and social inclusion, a study here is presented regarding the identification of unfulfilled basic needs of small agricultural producers in the region, as well as their perception regarding their work on rural areas towards peace building processes. It is only through this view, centered in the people, how the social issues here described can be articulated with the challenges they have to strengthen the social fabric, as well as all the new challenges that the region of Uraba in Antioquia and Choco face in their peace building efforts.
