O artigo discute o papel da

universidade pública na promoção de uma

educação transformadora que vise à efetiva

igualdade de direitos entre homens e mulheres.

Para isso, analisam-se os trabalhos já realizados

pela Ufac e processo de criação do Plano

Integrado em Ensino, Pesquisa e Extensão

para a Promoção da Igualdade de Gênero

na Universidade Federal do Acre. O projeto

embasou-se em leis e diretrizes do Ministério

da Educação e foi construído coletivamente, por

meio de demandas trazidas pela comunidade

acadêmica, sociedade civil organizada e por

instituições governamentais. Apresenta-se a

concepção e implantação do plano a fim de que

a experiência da Ufac possa orientar iniciativas

semelhantes em outras universidades.

Abstract:
The article discusses the role

of the public university in the promotion of a

transformative education aimed at the effective

equality of rights between men and women.

For that, the work already carried out by Ufac

and the process of creation of the Integrated

Plan in Teaching, Research and Extension

for the Promotion of Gender Equality at the

Federal University of Acre are analyzed. The

project was based on laws and guidelines of the

Ministry of Education and was built collectively,

through demands brought by the academic

community, organized civil society and

government institutions. It presents the design

and implementation of the plan so that Ufac’s

experience can guide similar initiatives in other

universities.
