Considerando que a “Mereologia” é o estudo filosófico das relações lógicas entre o todo e as partes, este livro se propõe a apresentar esta área dentro da Filosofia de Tomás de Aquino. Sendo assim, o leitor terá a oportunidade de conhecer o tipo universal de todo e partes, o qual lembra muito a noção de "conjunto". Além disso, será adicionado ainda um tratamento dos tipos virtual e potencial de todo e partes. Tais análises serão aplicadas nas descrições tomistas da "Querela dos Universais", bem como acerca das "Potências da Alma" e acerca das "Virtudes Humanas".

Abstract:
Have you ever wondered what "universal" is? Nowadays, we've gotten so used to the word "virtual" that we don't even think about what it means anymore. In this book, the reader will find philosophical analyzes on how to consider the "universal" in the intellect and in reality. In addition, he will be able to reflect on what it is to be "virtual" and "potential". On this path, Mereology will be our guide.
Considering that “Mereology” is the philosophical study of the logical relationships between the whole and the parts, this book proposes to present this area within the Philosophy of Thomas Aquinas. Thus, the reader will have the opportunity to know the universal type of whole and parts, which is very reminiscent of the notion of "set". In addition, a treatment of the virtual and potential types of whole and parts will be added. Such analyzes will be applied in the Thomist descriptions of the "Quarrel of the Universals", as well as about the "Potencies of the Soul" and about the "Human Virtues".
