UMA ANÁLISE DA POLÍTICA BRASILEIRA PELOS OLHOS DE GEORGE ORWELL
O projeto “Pelos Olhos da Literatura: uma análise da política brasileira pelos olhos de George Orwell” é um projeto “guarda-chuva” sobre a importância da literatura como fonte de pesquisa. Escolhemos como fonte de estudo e pesquisa o escritor e jornalista George Orwell, levando em consideração os livros produzindo por ele, como “A Revolução dos Bichos” e “1984”. Esses trabalhos ficaram conhecidos mundialmente e até hoje fazem sucesso e causam reflexão. Orwell trata em suas obras sobre temas atuais apesar de terem sido escritos no século passado. Encontramos em seus livros críticas à política e a sociedade, em especial ao capitalismo e imperialismo da Inglaterra e o comunismo na União Soviética. Com isso, pretendemos utilizar a literatura como ferramenta de análise da política no Brasil, abordando dois momentos importantes na história do país. O primeiro escolhido foi a Ditadura Militar (1964-1985) e o segundo a pandemia de covid-19 (2020 -2021), ambos períodos de instabilidade política no país, sendo que um acabou com a democracia e o outro viu ela ser ameaçada. Queremos fazer um estudo sobre as questões sociais e culturais do Brasil, utilizando as obras do George Orwell citadas anteriormente e outras menos conhecidas, como “A Flor da Inglaterra”. O escritor consegue mostrar, por meio da literatura, as características dos regimes totalitários e a importância de se estar atento. A partir de um olhar detalhado e sensível trazido pela literatura vamos conhecer e buscar entender como funciona todo esse mecanismo político, cultural e econômico brasileiro.

Abstract:
The Project “Through the eyes of literature: an analysis of Brazilian politics through the eyes of George Orwell” is an “umbrella” project on the importance of literature as a source of research. We chose the writer and journalist George Orwell as a source of study and research, taking into consideration the books produced by him, such as “Animal Farm” and “1984”. These works became known worldwide and until today are successful and cause reflection. Orwell deals in his works with current themes despite having been written in the last century. We find in his books criticisms of politics and society, especially capitalism and imperialism in England and communism in the Soviet Union. With this, we intend to use the literature as a tool for analyzing politics in Brazil, approaching two important moments in the country's history. The first chosen was the Military Dictatorship (1964-1985) and the second one was the covid-19 pandemic (2020-2021), both periods of political instability in the country, one of which ended democracy and the other saw it threatened. We want to make a study about social and cultural issues of Brazil, using the works of George Orwell previously mentioned and others lesser known, such as “Keep the aspidistra flying”. The writer is able to show, through literature, the characteristics of totalitarian regimes and the importance of being aware. From a detailed and sensitive look brought by the literature, we will get to know and seek to understand how this entire Brazilian political, cultural and economic mechanism works.
