UMA ANÁLISE DA HISTÓRIA DA ESTATÍSTICA E DOS NÚMEROS COMPLEXOS ABORDADA NOS LIVROS DIDÁTICOS DO ENSINO MÉDIO
O presente trabalho se constitui
um contributo à abordagem da história da
matemática, no sentido de possibilitar novas
abordagens ligadas ao ensino e aprendizagem
desta disciplina. Nosso objetivo foi verificar a
presença do contexto histórico da estatística e
dos números complexos presente em alguns
livros didáticos do ensino médio para refletirmos
sobre o quanto estas obras valorizam a história
da matemática enquanto ferramenta útil na
aprendizagem. Para isso fizemos uma análise
de seis livros de matemática do ensino médio
escolhidos por nós e editados em épocas
distintas para que pudéssemos identificar a
presença da história destes conteúdos nestas
obras. Os resultados apontaram diferenças
consideráveis na forma destes livros abordarem o contexto histórico destes conteúdos. Um fato
importante observado referente à forma desta
abordagem, é que há uma tendência em abordar
a história apenas em relação à descrição de
biografias de matemáticos famosos e fatos
ocorridos no passado.

Abstract:
The present work constitutes a
contribution to the approach of the history of
mathematics, in the sense of enabling new
approaches related to the teaching and learning
of this discipline. Our objective was to verify the
presence of the historical context of statistics
and the complex numbers present in some
high school textbooks to reflect on how much
these works value the history of mathematics
as a useful tool in learning. For this we did an
analysis of six high school mathematics books
chosen by us and edited at different times so
that we could identify the presence of the history
of these contents in these works. The results
pointed out considerable differences in the way
these books deal with the historical context
of these contents. An important fact observed
regarding the form of this approach is that there
is a tendency to approach history only in relation
to the description of biographies of famous
mathematicians and facts that have occurred in
