Abstract: The main objective of the article is to discuss the difficulties that students with hearing impairment have been facing throughout human history, such difficulties led them to be excluded from social life because they were formerly treated as indigent. All this segregation brought prejudices by society, but it also brought struggles and achievements for individuals and the people who fight for them; In the article, we will contextualize the types of teaching in common schools and in schools with special students, emphasizing a report carried out in 2017 with the proposed theme of the ENEM essay. In the article, we will make a brief brushstroke about the historical milestones that led people with hearing impairment to be protected and welcomed by the laws that govern our country, however we are still far from actually achieving our goal of total inclusion of these individuals, this problem is presented in a master's project that interviewed special learning students and the conclusion was a bad indication of how students are having difficulties in teaching in schools.
