Abstract: Surrealist suprareality is presented to us by André Breton and taken up by us in a previous study. In short, it is the sum of empirical reality (outer) and dreams (inner/unconscious). In this sense, our corpus in this study is made up of the first poem of Chuva oblíqua by Fernando Pessoa and the painting Sonho causado pelo voo de uma abelha ao redor de uma romã um segundo antes de acordar, by Salvador Dalí. We thus aim to investigate the intertextual relationships between the modernist poem and the surrealist painting that form our corpus. To this end, our theoretical framework is made up of texts by Roland Barthes, Julia Kristeva, Laurent Jenny and Maria Lúcia Outeiro Fernandes, in addition to our previous studies in which we addressed surrealist aesthetics.
