UM EXERCÍCIO À GUISA DE REFLEXÃO TEÓRICA: DIFERENTES INTERPRETAÇÕES ACERCA DO POPULISMO NO BRASIL E SOBRE A DITADURA MILITAR BRASILEIRA.
Para vários intelectuais, militantes e
pesquisadores do Brasil e de outros países da
América Latina o “populismo”, como categoria
explicativa, teve como principal função
responder o motivo do apoio dos trabalhadores
aos governos de Vargas, Cárdenas e Perón e o
estudo dos chamados “períodos populistas” foi
considerado fundamental para a compreensão
da instalação das posteriores ditaduras militares
nestes países. A fim de refletir sobre como as
relações entre Estado autoritário e sociedade
tem sido entendidas pela historiografia, o
trabalho tem como objetivo pensar como o
processo de implantação da ditadura militar no
Brasil e as experiências da luta armada neste
país foram reinterpretadas pelas produções
militantes, jornalísticas e acadêmicas ao longo
do tempo.

Abstract:
For several intellectuals,
activists and researchers in Brazil and other
Latin American countries, populism, like an
explanatory category, had as its main function to
answer the reason for the workers’ support for the
Vargas, Cárdenas and Perón governments and
the study of the so-called “Populist periods” was
considered fundamental for the understanding of
the installation of the later military dictatorships
in these countries. In order to reflect on how
the relations between authoritarian state and
society have been understood by historiography,
this paper aims to think how the process of
implantation of the military dictatorship in Brazil
and the experiences of the armed struggle in
this country were reinterpreted by the activists,
journalistic productions and academics over
time.
