Abstract: This article aims to present a partial analysis of the graduation tables present at IFSUL/Câmpus Pelotas, in the time frame of the 1940s and 1950s, focusing on the identification of black students who graduated from the institution. The theoretical-methodological proposal is allocated from a qualitative perspective, with a historical and technical approach affiliated with documentary analysis, understanding the paintings as a document/monument produced by the institution. This reflection is part of the project “The digitalization of the Institutional Collection as a possibility for Preservation of the Memory of Professional and Technological Education”, currently being completed at IFSUL/Campus Pelotas, with a focus on preserving school memory. The reflection is relevant in safeguarding institutional memory and promoting research in the field of Education and History.
