UM ESTUDO SOBRE AS ATITUDES DOS ESTUDANTES DE ENSINO TÉCNICO EM RELAÇÃO À CIÊNCIA E TECNOLOGIA.

• Abstract:

  In Brazil, over the past few years

  new institutions and programs for professional

  and technical education have been created.

  These measures intended to expand the

  available job offers and encourage the scientific

  and economic development of the country.

  One of the direct outcomes of these politics

  was the rescue and highlight of the Brazilian

  technical education. This research, therefore,

  aimed to verify the attitudes of technical

  education students regarding Science and

  Technology (S&T). A total of 431 students

  distributed through four different educational

  were evaluated, from the fields of human, exact

  and biological sciences. They were submitted

  to a socioeconomic questionnaire and a Likert’s

  attitudes scale. The latter was created by Aiken

  (1961), translated and adapted by Brito (1996).

  A mean value of 61.45 was obtained on the

  attitudes scale in relation to S&T. 51% of the

  students scored above the average and were

  considered to have positive attitudes towards S&T.
