UM ESTUDO SOBRE A INFLUÊNCIA DE FATORES INDIVIDUAIS NO PROCESSO DE APRENDIZAGEM DE LÍNGUA ESTRANGEIRA
A presente pesquisa visou compreender se fatores individuais como idade, motivação e personalidade exercem influência no processo de aprendizagem de língua estrangeira. De abordagem qualitativa e cunho descritivo, em relação aos procedimentos optei por uma pesquisa de campo. Para coleta de dados, apliquei um questionário a dez professores de línguas estrangeiras. Além disso, utilizei uma atividade envolvendo música com oito alunos adultos de uma escola de línguas e vinte alunos adolescentes de um colégio particular. Como fundamentação teórica, este estudo apresenta contribuições de autores como Segalowitz (1997), quem discorre sobre diferenças individuais no processo de aprendizagem de língua estrangeira e sobre o fator idade; Gardner (1985), quem discute o fator motivação; e Djamiah (2000), quem estuda o fator personalidade. A interpretação dos dados mostrou que os três fatores individuais idade, motivação e personalidade exercem importante influência no processo de aprendizagem de língua estrangeira.

Abstract:
This research was aimed at understanding whether factors such as age, motivation and personality exert influence on the process of foreign language learning. It presents a qualitative approach and a descriptive nature. with regard to the procedures, I chose a field research. For data collection, I submitted a questionnaire to ten teachers of foreign language. Furthermore, I used an activity involving a song with eight adult students of a language school and twenty teenage students of a private school. As theoretical basis, this study includes contributions by scholars such as Segalowitz (1997), who deals with individual differences in the process of foreign language learning and with the factor age; Gardner (1985), who discusses the factor motivation; and Djamiah (2000), who studies the factor personality. The interpretation of the data showed that the three individual factors age, motivation and personality exert an important influence on the process of foreign language learning.
