UM ESTUDO PRELIMINAR DO MANUSCRITO MS. 189 DEDICADO À “ARITMÉTICA PRIMÁRIA” DE CHARLES SANDERS PEIRCE
Neste artigo apresentamos um
estudo preliminar do manuscrito MS. 189, parte
do primeiro volume de The New Elements of
Mathematics by Charles S. Peirce, editado em
1976 por Carolyn Eisele, em que Peirce trata do
ensino de aritmética primária. O objetivo deste
trabalho é buscar indícios de alguns aspectos
que caracterizam a proposta peirceana sobre
o processo de ensino e de aprendizagem de
matemática, especialmente, da aritmética.
Discorremos aqui sobre a sua proposta para
introduzir a noção de número. Tal proposta
aponta para questões relacionadas ao uso
da nomenclatura, além de outros aspectos
relacionados que apontam para os cuidados de
estabelecer diálogos entre professor e aluno,
entre outros elementos que deverão nortear
nossas futuras investigações.

Abstract:
n this article we present a
preliminary study of the MS manuscript. 189,
part of the first volume of The New Elements
of Mathematics by Charles S. Peirce, edited in
1976 by Carolyn Eisele, in which Peirce deals
with the teaching of primary arithmetic. The
objective of this work is to find indications of
some aspects that characterize the Peircean
proposal on the teaching and learning process
of mathematics, especially arithmetic. We come
here on your proposal to introduce the notion
of number. This proposal points to questions
related to the use of nomenclature, as well as
other related aspects that point to the care of
establishing dialogues between teacher and
student, among other elements that should
guide our future investigations
