UM ESTUDO EM VERMELHO VERSUS “UM ESTUDO EM ROSA”: ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE E UMA ADAPTAÇÃO TELEVISIVA
O presente trabalho tem como
objetivo investigar as diferenças existentes
entre o enredo do romance Um estudo em
vermelho, de Arthur Conan Doyle, Esq., e da
adaptação desta obra para o primeiro episódio
da série de TV Sherlock (BBC), intitulado “Um
estudo em rosa”. Indicam-se as mais relevantes
modificações feitas pelo roteirista da série, que,
no nosso entender, foi o responsável por guiar o
crime para um caminho divergente da narrativa
original, modificando fatores sociais, temporais
e principalmente religiosos. Utilizando como
base teórica os autores Massi (2011), Benjamin
(1975) e Lins (1947), este artigo analisa e
elucida os motivos das alterações que existem
na adaptação da obra original para a série de
TV, ou seja, porque razão tais fatos que estão
no script da série de TV não são os mesmos no
romance, e vice-versa.

Abstract:
This paper aims to investigate
the differences between the plot of the novel A
Study in Scarlet by Arthur Conan Doyle, Esq.,
and its adaptation in the first episode of the TV
series Sherlock (BBC), entitled “A Study in Pink”.
It is indicated that the most relevant changes
made by the TV screenwriter, who, in our point
of view, was responsible for leading the crime
to a divergent path from the original narrative,
changing its social, temporal and especially
religious factors. Having as theoretical basis
the likes of Massi (2011), Benjamin (1975), and
Lins (1947), this paper analyzes and clarifies
the reasons for the changes that exist in the
adaptation of the original, as well as in the TV
series, i.e., why the facts in the TV-series script
are not the same as in the novel, and vice versa.
