UM ESTUDO DO APROVEITAMENTO DE VAGAS E TAXA DE CONCLUINTES EM CURSOS A DISTÂNCIA DE UMA INSTITUIÇÃO VINCULADA AO SISTEMA UNIVERSIDADE ABERTA DO BRASIL
Este trabalho apresenta o resultado do aproveitamento das vagas ofertadas em cursos a distância da Universidade Federal da Paraíba vinculados ao Sistema Universidade Aberta do Brasil bem como a taxa de alunos concluintes em relação ao total de alunos ingressantes por curso e por período de ingresso na Instituição. Considerou-se para este estudo todas as vagas ofertadas nos processos seletivos realizados entre os anos de 2007 e 2021 e o número de alunos ingressantes em cada período letivo e em cada curso além do número de alunos concluintes por período de ingresso e curso. Observou-se que a Instituição teve um bom aproveitamento das vagas ofertadas no entanto a taxa de alunos concluintes ainda é baixa. Os resultados encontrados serviram de insumo para que os gestores institucionais tomassem medidas para conter a evasão e, consequentemente, aumentar a taxa de alunos concluintes nos cursos.

Abstract:
This work presents the results of the use of places offered in distance courses at the Federal University of Paraiba linked to the Open University of Brazil System, as well as the rate of graduating students in relation to the total number of new students per course and per entry period at the Institution. For this study, all vacancies offered in the selection processes carried out between the years 2007 and 2021, and the number of students entering each academic period and each course, were considered, as well as the number of graduating students per entry period and course. It was observed that the Institution made good use of the places offered, even though the rate of graduating students is still low. The results found served as input for institutional managers to take measures to contain dropout and, consequently, increase the rate of students graduating from the courses.
