O principal objetivo da utilização dos

repetidores de dados móveis é de aumentar a

área de cobertura dos sistemas de comunicação.

Ao se utilizar um repetidor, realiza-se a

replicação do sinal. Esse processo consiste

em captar, restaurar, se necessário, amplificar

e emitir o sinal recebido tanto do equipamento

do usuário quanto da estação base (EB).

Sua utilização também reflete em economia

financeira e de energia, possuindo instalação e

manutenção mais simples, quando comparado

com a EB. No entanto, verifica-se na literatura

que os repetidores não só contribuem com a

melhoria no estabelecimento da conexão, como

também podem gerar problemas na adição de

ruído, além de interferir na transmissão da EB. A

contribuição deste capítulo é de apresentar um

tutorial sobre os repetidores de dados móveis,

incluindo os estados da arte e da técnica e,

consequentemente, discutir sua implementação

e usabilidade em comunidades com dificuldades

no estabelecimento da comunicação móvel

celular.

Abstract:
The main purpose of using mobile

data repeaters is to increase the coverage

area of the communication systems. When a

repeater is used, signal replication is performed.

This process consists in capturing, restoring,

if necessary, amplifying and transmitting

the received signal from both the user’s

equipment and the base station (BS). The use

of this equipment also reflects in financial and

energy savings, having simpler installation

and maintenance when compared to BSs.

However, it is verified in the literature that the

mobile data repeaters do not only contribute

to the improvement in the establishment of the

connection, but also can generate problems in

the addition of noise, besides interfering in the

transmission of the BSs. The contribution of this chapter is to present a tutorial on

mobile data repeaters, including the state of the art and the state of technique, and,

consequently, to discuss its implementation and usability in communities with difficulties

in the establishment of mobile cellular communication.
