Abstract: Objective: To broaden the theme and contextualise it in possible organisational contexts, relating other references, with a view to its applicability and possible translation. Experience report: The shortage of nurses is a reality that in many contexts motivates the development of strategies. Health systems are facing greater complexity in terms of care and sick people, and nurses are being overburdened. The factors underlying nurse turnover and leaving the profession refer to a multitude of reasons related to organizational characteristics, the work itself and the burden it brings at a personal level, the interpersonal relationships that are developed in teams, recognition of value, among other more dispersed personal issues. Contextual reflection can lead to a multiplication of team efforts at a micro level, but also at higher hierarchical levels that can interfere with this phenomenon. Final considerations: Influencing leadership and the organizational environment is a role for each nurse in their work context and thus affects nurses' motivation and satisfaction, creating changes with value in the team.
