Abstract: High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is a form of physical exercise that involves alternating between periods of high-intensity exercise and low-intensity exercise or rest. It has been receiving increasing attention due to its potential health and fitness benefits. Studies show that HIIT improves aerobic capacity, increases fat burning, improves insulin sensitivity, and promotes weight loss. In patients with Parkinson's disease, HIIT can improve functional capacity, gait, and quality of life, potentially slowing disease progression. In women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), HIIT improves insulin sensitivity, body composition, and metabolic function. In individuals with obesity, HIIT is effective for weight loss and improving metabolic health. Additionally, HIIT improves cardiovascular health, mental health, and metabolic health in people with type 2 diabetes. In older adults, HIIT improves physical and cognitive health. HIIT is an effective and versatile strategy for promoting health and fitness in a variety of populations
