TRATAMENTO FARMACOLÓGICO DO DESEJO SEXUAL HIPOATIVO FEMININO: MEDICAÇÕES APROVADAS PELO FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION (FDA)
O desejo sexual, como fase importante do ciclo de resposta sexual feminina, trouxe um novo conceito, sendo ele agora cíclico, onde postula-se que cada fase estimula a próxima e é estimulada pela anterior, em vez da sequência linear e progressiva (desejo, excitação, orgasmo e resolução). A compreensão dos aspectos biopsicossociais que interferem na saúde sexual, juntamente com os avanços das neurociências para o estudo da neurobiologia da sexualidade e farmacologia, contribuem para a promoção, prevenção e tratamento das disfunções sexuais, em especial do desejo sexual hipoativo. O Desejo Sexual Hipoativo é o transtorno sexual mais comum relatado por mulheres, trazendo consequências negativas para a saúde psíquica e integração social. O conhecimento da influência neuromoduladora com vias excitatórias e inibitórias para a resposta sexual impulsionou a busca por fármacos que pudessem modificar comportamentos indesejados, como o desejo hipoativo. Com base nesses estudos das vias neuronais responsáveis pela resposta sexual, foram desenvolvidas duas drogas que já são aprovadas nos EUA, pelo FDA, para uso nas mulheres no menacme com Desejo Sexual Hipoativo. Até o momento somente essas duas drogas foram aprovadas

Abstract:
Sexual desire, as an important phase of the female sexual response cycle, brought a new concept, which is now cyclic, where it is postulated that each phase stimulates the next and is stimulated by the previous one, instead of the linear and progressive sequence (desire, excitement, orgasm and resolution). Understanding the biopsychosocial aspects that affect sexual health, together with advances in neuroscience for the study of the neurobiology of sexuality and pharmacology, contribute to the promotion, prevention and treatment of sexual dysfunctions, especially hypoactive sexual desire. Hypoactive Sexual Desire is the most common sexual disorder reported by women, with negative consequences for mental health and social integration. The knowledge of the neuromodulatory influence with excitatory and inhibitory pathways for the sexual response boosted the search for drugs that could modify unwanted substances, such as hypoactive desire. Based on studies of the neuronal pathways responsible for the sexual response, two drugs were developed that are already approved in the USA, by the FDA, for use in women in menacme with Hypoactive Sexual Desire. So far only these two drugs have been approved.
