TRATAMENTO DE INFECÇÃO POR TRYPANOXYURIS SP EM EXEMPLARES DE BUGIOS-RUIVOS (ALOUATTA GUARIBA - HUMBOLDT, 1812)
Os nematódeos do gênero Trypanoxyuris, pertencentes à família
Oxyuridae, acometem principalmente os primatas das famílias Cebidae e Atelidae e
ocorrem com frequência em animais de vida livre podendo causar prurido anal,
agitação, agressividade, anorexia e até óbito. O presente trabalho pretende avaliar o
tratamento realizado para infecção por Trypanoxyuris sp em três exemplares de bugioruivo (Alouatta guariba) mantidos pelo Serviço de Atendimento de Animais Selvagens
(SAAS), demonstrando que a associação de fármacos com manejo sanitário do
recinto pode ser eficaz no controle deste parasita.

Abstract:
Nematodes of the genus Trypanoxyuris, belonging to Oxyuridae family, mainly affects
the primates of Cebidae and Atelidae families and occurs frequently in wild animals
causing anal itching, agitation, aggression, anorexia and death. This study aims to
evaluate the treatment performed for infection of Trypanoxyuris sp in three Howler
Monkeys (Alouatta guariba) kept in captive by the Wildlife Service (SAAS)
demonstrating that the combination of drugs with sanitary management of the
enclosure can be effective in the control of this parasite.
