Abstract: INTRODUCTION: Celiac Artery Compression Syndrome, known as Dunbar Syndrome, is a condition described by the reduction of the lumen of the celiac trunk due to the anomalous positioning of the median arcuate ligament of the diaphragm muscle. This anatomic variation results in obstruction of blood flow and its manifestation of generic symptoms, which makes diagnosis challenging. OBJECTIVES: This study's main objectives are to inform about this syndrome, describing its pathology and clinical features, in order to identify complications in its diagnosis and treatment. Furthermore, we detail the celiac trunk decompression procedure and the importance of confirming the success of the surgery through intraoperative ultrasound METHODOLOGY: The methodology adopted for this review involves an advanced search in PubMed using the keywords "Dunbar syndrome", "Median arcuate ligament syndrome", "celiac artery compression syndrome" and "treatment", over a period of five years. Seven articles that met the established criteria were selected RESULT: The results obtained highlight that the treatment of Dunbar Syndrome is surgical and can be performed by laparotomy, laparoscopy or robotics. It is concluded, therefore, that the success of the surgery and the choice of the appropriate surgical approach depend on knowledge of the pathology, the procedure itself, its possible complications and complications DISCUSSION: Although this syndrome is a rare condition, it is essential that healthcare professionals are aware of it, from diagnosis to surgical intervention. Anatomical knowledge of the affected region and theoretical-practical understanding of the therapeutic procedure are essential to provide adequate treatment to patients affected by this syndrome.
