Tratamento da Informação: exercitando a leitura e a interpretação de gráficos e tabelas
Este trabalho teve como objetivo principal apresentar os resultados de uma investigação realizada numa turma da 3ª série do Ensino Médio de uma escola estadual da cidade de Mamanguape-PB. A investigação foi baseada numa oficina pedagógica que teve como objetivos específicos: aproximar os alunos das informações em forma de gráficos e tabelas; instigar a leitura e a interpretação ao tratar as informações apresentadas em rótulos de embalagens e em notícias e aprofundar, potencializar e consolidar as ideias já conhecidas sobre conteúdos fundamentais da Estatística entre os quais as medidas de posição (média, moda e mediana). Seu desenvolvimento deu-se em quatro etapas: a primeira etapa teve como foco a familiarização dos estudantes com o tema que seria trabalhado durante a oficina; a etapa seguinte teve como objetivo tratar as informações encontradas em rótulos de embalagens de produtos conhecidos na região, como as de refrigerante, salgadinho, biscoito e leite; na terceira etapa, foi realizada uma atividade usando recortes de notícias de jornais e da internet. Essas notícias continham informações tanto em forma de tabelas como em forma de gráficos; A última etapa ressaltou a importância do tratamento da informação nas avaliações externas pelas quais os alunos precisarão passar caso queiram ter acesso ao ensino superior. Com relação à metodologia empregada, no que se refere a abordagem, a pesquisa se caracteriza como qualitativa. Do ponto de vista dos seus objetivos foi utilizada a pesquisa exploratória. No decorrer das atividades foi possível perceber o interesse e a motivação da maior parte dos alunos pelo momento de aprendizagem proporcionado. Apesar de alguns percalços encontrados, a oficina foi bastante proveitosa. A realização das atividades fluíram da forma esperada e os objetivos traçados foram alcançados.

Abstract:
The main objective of this work was to present the results of an investigation carried out in a 3rd grade high school class at a state school in the city of Mamanguape-PB. The investigation was based on a pedagogical workshop whose specific objectives were: to bring students closer to information in the form of graphs and tables; to instigate reading and interpretation when treating the information presented on packaging labels and in news and to deepen, enhance and consolidate the ideas already known about fundamental contents of Statistics, including position measures (average, mode and median). Its development took place in four stages: the first stage focused on familiarizing students with the topic that would be worked on during the workshop; the next step aimed to deal with the information found on packaging labels for products known in the region, such as soft drinks, snacks, biscuits and milk; in the third stage, an activity was carried out using news clippings from newspapers and the internet. These news items contained information both in the form of tables and in the form of graphs; The last step highlighted the importance of processing information in external assessments that students will need to undergo if they want to have access to higher education. Regarding the methodology used, with regard to the approach, the research is characterized as qualitative. From the point of view of its objectives, exploratory research was used. During the activities, it was possible to perceive the interest and motivation of most students for the learning moment provided. Despite some setbacks, the workshop was very fruitful. The activities were carried out as expected and the goals set were achieved.
