Abstract: Asthma is a chronic airway disease that is common in childhood and has as its main symptoms: dyspnea, cough and wheezing. It has become a very common condition in pediatric urgency and emergency units. Asthma exacerbation is a potentially fatal event and occurs when there is a worsening of respiratory symptoms or a decrease in lung function. Currently, the initial treatment of an asthma exacerbation includes the use of inhaled bronchodilators as an example Salbutamol, which is a selective beta 2 adrenergic agonist. For patients who are severe and non-reactive to SABA, Ipratropium Bromide is indicated, which is associated with a reduction of systemic glucocorticoids such as Dexamethasone, which accelerates the resolution of exacerbation and prevents new seizures. In severe patients with resistance to initial treatment by beta 2 agonist and corticosteroids, intravenous Magnesium Sulfate is indicated and should be medicated only once
