Abstract: Introduction: Facial fractures are frequent in the context of trauma and require special attention due to the physical, psychological and socioeconomic consequences that are capable of causing to the patient in their social life. Its etiology is varied and encompasses several types of traumas suffered. Among maxillofacial fractures, the incidence of condylar fractures can be highlighted, which are of great relevance because they interfere with mandibular function differently from other injuries, so their treatment requires specific care and detailed diagnosis. Adequate treatment restores not only quality of life, but also occlusion and facial aesthetics, and can be performed conservatively or surgically, the latter consisting of bone reduction and fixation. Objective: To report the case of a patient with facial bone fractures in the symphysis and condyle of the mandible that were surgically treated. Case report: patient, woman, twenty- five years old, victim of a motorcycle accident and complained of occlusal alteration and pain in the preauricular region right. After clinical and tomographic examinations, a mandible fracture was found in the regions of symphysis and condyle neck right. Surgical treatment consisted of reduction and fixation of the fractures under general anesthesia. through an incision in the back of the anterior mandibular vestibule and a modified endaural incision. After one year, the patient didn’t have occlusal alterations, preserved mandibular movements, a discrete scar, and no facial nerve paresis. Conclusion: In summary, the appropriate treatment for facial bone fractures switches in different cases, and making a good diagnosis is essential to outline the ideal treatment plan. In the case detailed, the idealized plan was the surgical one, which showed an excellent prognosis and recovery of the function previously compromised by the accident.
