• Abstract: SUMMARY: INTRODUCTION: Globally evaluate the aspects inherent to patients with eating disorders, their main signs and symptoms. METHODOLOGY: This is a literature review, of a narrative type, which aims to describe the main eating disorders, from a theoretical point of view, through materials that have already been published on the topic in question, through analysis and interpretation of the literature . The inclusion criteria were: articles in Portuguese and English; published between 2020 and 2024 and which addressed the themes proposed for this research, review-type studies made available in full. DISCUSSION: Patients who suffer some type of burn, regardless of its extent, become victims of physical aggression in their morphology and aesthetics, which goes beyond physical damage. Burns are classified as injuries resulting from trauma of thermal origin resulting from exposure to flames, hot liquids, hot surfaces, cold, chemical substances, radiation, friction or friction. Throughout this work, it was found that for there to be effective treatment, some factors must be individualized, such as early diagnosis characterized by the identification of the etiology, extent, severity and depth of injuries caused by burns. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: In view of the above, aiming to increase the contribution to the medical community, the present study was limited to elucidating the approach to burn patients, from simple to complex and the types of burns and their respective treatments.
