TRANSTORNO DE ESTRESSE PÓS-TRAUMÁTICO: SOB UMA VISÃO PSICOLÓGICA DO FILME O QUARTO DE JACK
As vítimas de violência na
comunidade geralmente desenvolvem
transtorno de estresse pós-traumático (TEPT),
uma condição frequentemente crônica,
associada à grave morbidade e incapacitação
psicossocial. Essa situação é vista no filme
O quarto de Jack, onde a personagem Joy é
violentada e sequestrada, desenvolvendo assim
o Transtorno de Estresse Pós Traumático.
Diante disso, o estudo tem como objetivo a
produção científica abordando a análise do
transtorno de estresse pós-traumático, sob uma
perspectiva da narrativa “O quarto de Jack”.
Desse modo, pretende-se articular autores que
discorrem sobre as temáticas apresentadas na
narrativa, buscando relacionar os antecedentes
e os resultados a cerca da interferência de um
evento traumático na vida de um indivíduo.
Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa de literatura,
realizada no período de setembro a novembro
de 2016, no endereço eletrônico da plataforma
da Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde (BVS), através
de consultas nas seguintes bases de dados:
Scielo, Google Acadêmico e Lilacs. A análise
das publicações selecionadas permitiu a
classificação das seguintes categorias:
Prevalência do transtorno de estresse póstraumático
(TEPT) em mulheres vítimas de
abuso sexual, efeitos resultantes do TEPT e seu
impacto para a vítima e a atuação do psicólogo
no tratamento de pacientes com TEPT. Dessa
forma, foi observado que em grande parte dos
artigos existe uma forte relação entre a vivência
de eventos traumáticos e o desenvolvimento
do TEPT, sendo este de maior incidência em
mulheres, como retratado no filme analisado.

Abstract:
Victims of violence in the
community often develop post-traumatic
stress disorder (PTSD), a condition often
chronic, associated with severe morbidity and
psychosocial incapacitation. This situation
is seen in the film Jack’s room, where the character Joy is abused and kidnapped,
thus developing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Therefore, the study aims at the
scientific production approaching the analysis of post-traumatic stress disorder, from a
perspective of the narrative “Jack’s room.” However, it is intended to articulate authors
who discuss the themes presented in the narrative, seeking to relate antecedents and
results to the interference of a traumatic event in the life of an individual. This is an
integrative review of the literature, carried out from September to November 2016, at the
electronic address of the Virtual Health Library (VHL) platform, through consultations
in the following databases: Scielo, Google Academica and Lilacs. The analysis of the
selected publications allowed classification of the following categories: Prevalence
of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in women victims of sexual abuse, effects
resulting from PTSD and its impact on the victim and the psychologist’s performance
in the treatment of patients with PTSD. Thus, it was observed that in a large part of the
articles there is a strong relation between the experience of traumatic events and the
development of PTSD, being this one of greater incidence in women, as portrayed in
the film analyzed.
