TRANSMISSÃO DE DADOS VIA REDE ELÉTRICA: UMA ANÁLISE DA VIABILIDADE DE UTILIZAÇÃO EM RESIDÊNCIAS PARA COMPARTILHAMENTO DE INTERNET E OUTROS RECURSOS COMPUTACIONAIS
A utilização da rede elétrica existente nas residências para a implementação de uma rede de dados, compartilhamento de internet e outros recursos computacionais é uma alternativa para levar conectividade a diversos pontos da residência, porém, verificar esta implementação, seus resultados e possíveis problemas é necessário. Este trabalho criou e desenvolveu um pequeno laboratório simulando uma rede para compartilhamento de dados e internet residencial utilizando a tecnologia Power Line Communications (PLC). Os testes realizados constataram a funcionalidade, mas problemas que podem impactar determinadas comunicações foram identificados, entretanto, ficou comprovada a viabilidade de utilização residencial, apesar de, quando comparada a outras tecnologias, possuir alguns pontos em desvantagem, que em ambientes residenciais e de pequenos escritórios, como velocidade e latência na rede, não impactam na sua utilização.

Abstract:
The use of existing power lines in homes to implement a data network, Internet sharing, and other computing resources is an alternative to bring connectivity to various parts of the residence, however, verify this implementation, results and possible problems is necessary. This work has created and developed a small laboratory simulating a network for data and residential Internet sharing using the Power Line Communications (PLC) technology. The tests verified the functionality, but problems that can impact certain communications were identified, however, demonstrated the feasibility of residential use, although compared to other technologies, have some points at a disadvantage.
