Abstract: The development of information and communication technologies that enter agriculture are a factor for agricultural production systems to be productive and sustainable; The use of information and digital tools allows producers to improve decision-making based on the generation of data from farmland, such as monitoring and evaluation of environmental variables, soil, plant health, etc. The use of ICTs in food production enables environmental, economic and social changes: it favors conservation agriculture, offers the option for new business models and agricultural research and development, but literacy and digital education are required in rural areas, so it is necessary for educational institutions to incorporate knowledge and skills of teachers and increase the availability of digital technologies in classrooms.
