Abstract: Sugar cane bagasse, an abundant waste in the Venezuelan sugar industry, presents great potential for the production of sustainable bioplastics. The design of a plant for this purpose would allow industrial diversification, waste recovery and the generation of ecological products. The process includes the reception and pretreatment of bagasse, grinding and shredding, extraction and purification of cellulose, cellulose modification, polymerization, molding and extrusion of the bioplastic. Production capacity, processing technology, raw material availability, environmental impact and economic viability are crucial factors in plant design. Venezuela has the necessary conditions to prosper in the bioplastic industry from sugarcane bagasse, thanks to the availability of raw materials, experience in the agro-industrial sector and the growing demand for sustainable products. The development of this industry can contribute to the economic growth of the country, the creation of jobs and the reduction of the environmental impact associated with traditional plastics and the combustion of bagasse.
