TRANSFORMANDO ÁGUAS: O USO DA BIOMATEMÁTICA NA DESSALINIZAÇÃO DA ÁGUA SALOBRA NA REGIÃO DE CAATINGA DO MUNICÍPIO DE POÇÕES - BA
Os longos períodos de estiagem que ocorrem no sertão nordestino são uma realidade conhecida e que tem como consequência principal a falta de água. Diante disso, os habitantes dessas localidades procuram medidas alternativas de obtê-la, optando frequentemente pela perfuração de poços tubulares que nem sempre garantem água de boa qualidade e que oferece água salobra em grande parte dos casos. Sem outras opções, os moradores acabam consumindo esta água, fator que acarreta diversos problemas de saúde, nas cultivares e no próprio solo. Nessa conjuntura, a pesquisa a ser apresentada teve como objetivo, melhorar a qualidade da água na região de Caatinga do município de Poções - BA, com a criação de dessalinizadores de baixo custo e processos de conscientização. Realizou-se pesquisa bibliográfica, questionários e testes para obtenção de dados. Os resultados mostraram que não havia cuidados com a água a ser utilizada, e que o consumo de água salobra era significativo. Concluiu-se com a pesquisa que, o consumo da água salobra na região de Caatinga do município causa inúmeros problemas e que através dos cálculos matemáticos conseguiu-se comprovar a funcionalidade do dessalinizador.

Abstract:
The long periods of drought that occur in the northeastern region are a known reality and the main consequence is the lack of water. Given this, the inhabitants of these localities seek alternative measures to obtain it, often opting for the drilling of tubular wells that do not always guarantee good water and that offers brackish water in most cases. Without other options, residents end up consuming this water, a factor that causes various health problems, in cultivars and in the soil itself. At this situacion, the research to be presented aimed to improve water quality in the Caatinga region of Poções - BA, with the creation of desalter plants and awareness process. Bibliographic research, questionnaires and tests were performed to obtain data. The results showed that there was no care with the water to be used, and that the consumption of brackish water was significant. It was concluded with the research that the consumption of brackish water in the Caatinga region of the municipality causes numerous problems and that through mathematical calculations it was possible to prove the desalter functionality.
