Abstract: This article presents how a TCO based analysis can provide more holistic perceptions about a performance maximization in actions related to supply strategies. To achieve this goal, this research was based on a case study that consisted of performing a comparative analysis using the principles of TCO modeling to evaluate the viability and cost optimization of an energy supply project. Among the main results, it was found that the TCO modeling contributions surpassed the limits of the short-term perception proposing evaluative panoramas about strategic, financial and operational aspects involved in investment decisions in long-term logistics projects – which can be noticed through the non-linear sight provided by the quantitative and qualitative perspectives of TCO that provide the possibility of choosing alternatives for fully viable logistics projects.
