THE TACTILE MODEL IN TEACHING GEOGRAPHY FOR THE VISUALLY IMPAIRED STUDENT
Entendendo o deficiente visual como um sujeito ativo na sociedade e utilizando a compreensão espacial oportunizada pela Geografia, busco colaborar com o processo de autonomia dos alunos deficientes visuais. Através da investigação sobre o que é deficiência, deficiente visual e o processo de inclusão iniciamos o percurso que nos levará a compreender e auxiliar os sujeitos a ir e vir com maior independência, como também compreender alguns conceitos físicos naturais a partir de seu trajeto cotidiano. Favorecendo-me dos recursos das ciências geográfica e cartográfica e aplicando-os através da construção uma maquete tátil que fortalece a apropriação espacial por parte de alunos com deficiência visual da Escola Estadual Gonçalves Dias em Porto Alegre/RS, certamente colaboramos com o seu deslocamento diário de ir e vir sozinho até a escola, favorecendo assim sua autonomia, sua apropriação espacial e a compreensão de alguns dos elementos físicos-naturais presentes no dia a dia ao percorrerem este trajeto.

Abstract:
Understanding the visually impaired as an active subject in society and using a spatial understanding provided by Geography, I seek to collaborate with the process of autonomy of visually impaired students. Through the investigation of what is disability, visually impaired and the inclusion process, we started the journey that will lead us to understand and help the subjects to come and go with greater independence, as well as understand some natural concepts from their daily path. Favoring me the resources of science and cartography and applying them through the construction of a tactile model that strengthens the spatial appropriation by visually impaired students at the Gonçalves Dias State School in Porto Alegre / RS, we certainly collaborated with their daily movement of coming and going to school alone, thus favoring their autonomy, their spatial appropriation and the understanding of some of the natural physical elements present in their daily lives when traveling this path.
