A ATUAÇÃO DA POLÍCIA MILITAR DO PARÁ NA EDUCAÇÃO PREVENTIVA ATRAVÉS DO PROERD

O presente artigo tem como finalidade analisar a atuação da Polícia Militar do Estado do Pará na educação preventiva através do Programa Educacional de Resistência às Drogas e à Violência (PROERD), evidenciando sua importância na prevenção ao uso de drogas, redução da violência escolar e fortalecimento da cidadania entre crianças e adolescentes. A pesquisa busca compreender como as ações educativas desenvolvidas pela Polícia Militar contribuem para formação social e conscientização dos estudantes no ambiente escolar, promovendo valores éticos, responsabilidade e convivência pacífica. O estudo foi elaborado por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica, de abordagem qualitativa e caráter descritivo, utilizando como fundamentos a Constituição Federal de 1988, o Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente, documentos institucionais do PROERD e autores das áreas de educação, sociologia e segurança pública. Verificou-se que o PROERD representa importante instrumento de prevenção social, atuando não apenas no combate preventivo às drogas e à violência, mas também na aproximação entre Polícia Militar, escola, família e comunidade. Evidenciou-se ainda que a educação preventiva constitui relevante mecanismo de fortalecimento da cidadania e promoção da cultura de paz no ambiente escolar.

  • Abstract: This article aims to analyze the role of the Military Police of the State of Pará in preventive education through the Educational Program for Resistance to Drugs and Violence (PROERD), highlighting its importance in preventing drug use, reducing school violence, and strengthening citizenship among children and adolescents. The research seeks to understand how the educational actions developed by the Military Police contribute to the social formation and awareness of students in the school environment, promoting ethical values, responsibility, and peaceful coexistence. The study was developed through bibliographic research, with a qualitative approach and descriptive character, using as foundations the Federal Constitution of 1988, the Statute of the Child and Adolescent, institutional documents of PROERD, and authors from the areas of education, sociology, and public security. It was found that PROERD represents an important instrument of social prevention, acting not only in the preventive fight against drugs and violence, but also in bringing together the Military Police, school, family, and community. It was also evidenced that preventive education constitutes a relevant mechanism for strengthening citizenship and promoting a culture of peace in the school environment.
